THEMATIC SCOPE

Abstract

In the frame of the Creative Europe co-funded project Aldus Up, the Fitzcarraldo Foundation has carried out research and training activities to support book fairs in their audience development and reading promotion efforts.

On behalf of the Italian Publishers Association, the Fitzcarraldo Foundation explored the most innovative practices in audience development and reading promotion through interviews, an online survey, and the analysis of best practices. Subsequently, after completing the research phase, interactive workshops were conducted to provide fair personnel with the necessary skills to design and implement effective programs.

Our role

Fitzcarraldo Foundation worked along with the Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez in mapping the state of the art of reading promotion initiatives and audience engagement programs carried out by the 15 partner book fairs of the network.

Upon completing the research phase, the Fitzcarraldo Foundation organized a series of interactive workshops held in Madrid to equip the fair personnel with the necessary skills to design and implement effective programs. The workshops focused on targeted strategies for both professional and non-professional audiences.
